GoTV Networks, an Los Angeles-based mobile video company, has bought a handful of assets from Hands-On Mobile. The new chapter for Hands-On Mobile must be a bit of a let down after once being the fourth largest U.S. mobile game publisher. The company had raised more than $100 million in venture capital and had aspired to go public, but more recently, was forced to scale back its operations, including a couple of rounds of layoffs and the departure of two consecutive CEOs. Both companies have long histories in mobile stretching back to the days when feature phones and carrier partnerships were the golden ticket.
Media magnate Oprah Winfrey is entering the mobile content arena. The talk show host's production company, Harpo Studios, along with app company Hands-On Mobile, are releasing Oprah Mobile for the Apple iPhone, BlackBerry, Google Android and Palm Pre devices

From Hands-On Mobile, Inc., a premier publisher and developer of connected games and applications, the game is inspired by the true story of Sean Devlin, a street-tough Irish race car driver with a heart of gold and fists of steel. Parallel characters and story lines tie the mobile game in to the console version creating a complementary experience on multiple platforms.
